Lauren Moldenhauer is Executive Director of the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, where she also holds the orchestra's Principal Flute chair, a position she has held since 2017. She oversees artistic administration, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, and community engagement, and since joining the organization's leadership has strengthened its administrative operations, developed new community partnerships, and worked to position the orchestra for long-term artistic and financial stability.

Before joining the Lake County Symphony Orchestra, she served as Executive Director of the Illinois Council of Orchestras, supporting advocacy, collaboration, and professional development among orchestras across the state. She also works in advancement at Northwestern University, where she has built experience in donor relations and fundraising strategy that informs her approach to institutional development at the orchestra.

Lauren performs regularly with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Lake County and the North Shore. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Northwestern University and a Master of Music in Flute Performance from The Catholic University of America.

Her position as both Principal Flute and Executive Director gives her a working vantage point that few orchestra leaders have. She knows what a rehearsal schedule looks like from inside it and what makes a season work for the people playing it, not just the people budgeting it — a dual fluency that shapes how the Lake County Symphony Orchestra approaches programming, fundraising, and its role in the community it serves.
