The Lake County Symphony Orchestra is bringing something completely different to The Barn at Hawthorn Woods on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 5:30 PM: Piano Bar Classics, an intimate evening of piano and vocals featuring internationally experienced performer Alyse Merry.
This is not a traditional symphony concert. Instead, Piano Bar Classics captures the spirit of a great piano bar — expressive vocals, familiar favorites, and an engaging atmosphere — reimagined in a welcoming concert setting.
An Intimate, Limited-Seating Experience
The Barn at Hawthorn Woods provides a relaxed and up-close environment for live music. With seating limited to approximately 100–120 guests, this performance offers a rare opportunity to experience a dynamic musical evening in a cozy setting.
The concert format includes:
- Two 45-minute sets
- Solo piano and vocals
- General admission seating
- Cash bar available
- Hawthorn Woods’ favorite pizza food truck, Kurbside Pizza, on site
Guests are encouraged to arrive early, enjoy a drink, grab dinner from the food truck, and settle in for an unforgettable evening.

Meet the Artist: Alyse Merry
Alyse Merry is a professional pianist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist with nearly a decade of performance experience across Europe and Africa, as well as high-profile private and corporate engagements.
Classically trained with dual master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, Alyse also spent several years in the dueling piano industry — an experience that shaped her high-energy, audience-connected performance style.
Inspired by artists such as Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks, and Amy Winehouse, Alyse blends technical precision with expressive vocals, creating performances that resonate with listeners across generations.
Her March 28 appearance promises a powerful mix of artistry and personality in a format that invites audiences to sit back, relax, and enjoy the music up close.
